The range of "Do it yourself" chocolates, sweets and confectionary has been expanded

Barcelona Degusta incorporates BCN&CAKE, the creative cake, pastry and confectionary show

The 5th edition of Barcelona Degusta, the Popular Gastronomy Festival to be held in Fira de Barcelona from 24 to 27 September 2015, sees BCN&CAKE, the renowned creative cake, pastry and confectionary show in Barcelona, added to the exhibition range of one of the most important events in southern Europe. The organisers of both events, Alimentaria Exhibitions and Sr. y Sra. Cake, have reached a partnership agreement that will strengthen the exhibition range of chocolates, cakes, sweets and confectionary to offer all kinds of activities and workshops for those with the sweetest tooth.

Cured meats, bread, jams, cheeses, wines, fruit, vegetables, craft beers, products with a Guarantee of Origin, publications, kitchen utensils, street food caravans and now creative cakes and pastries. Barcelona Degusta 2015 will host BCN&CAKE, the benchmark event for cake lovers, Sugarcraft and Artesanía del Dulce. This event will be held inside the show to increase the array of activities, workshops and courses conducted by prestigious pastry chefs, master chocolate makers, creative bakers and confectionary designers, to the enjoyment of the sweetest visitors.

The incorporation of BCN&CAKE sees Barcelona Degusta promote a booming industry in both the professional and domestic spheres. The "Do it yourself" trend has also landed in the food industry and companies are aware of this shift as they incorporate it into their business lines – in food products and ingredients as well as kitchen utensils and kitchenware.

Buy, taste, learn...

Barcelona Degusta 2015 will feature new contents and a clear objective: to bring the world of gastronomy closer to enthusiasts of quality food and gastronomy, with the show drawing inspiration from its clear vocation towards teaching, fun and commerce.

By virtue of 11 sections that include the Bazar, Vinoteca, Fromagerie, Street Food, Huerto, Paisajes and Market, alongside BCN&CAKE Barcelona Degusta will include small producers and food artisans in addition to large producers in the industry. Moreover, visitors will have the chance to discover, taste and finally acquire new products under a format that will also enable them to attend sessions, conferences, tastings and other educational and fun activities, some of which will be held outdoors in the Montjuic Fira de Barcelona venue.

Meanwhile, in its three previous editions BCN&CAKE has been consolidated as a reference point for the industry and sweet lovers alike and a benchmark trade fair event in southern Europe. The attraction of both events and their concurrence with the La Mercè festival means a significant flow of visitors is expected.
